You receive the first card from the wandering elite mobs in the upper level outside of the instance.
Place that card in the card reader outside of the instance. (Run over to the west and get Techbot's brain while you're here).
Each card reader gives you the card needed for the next reader.
The remaining card readers are located inside the instance.
These are all of the translated messages from the five punch cards as well as all the machines:
Tell your friends to play WoW
Play the Warcarft roleplaying game
Kiss me, I'm gnomish!
The Lich King lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gnomeregan forever!
How am I driving?
<insert funny message here>
Thrall and Jaina sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G
If you can read this, you're standing too close
The gnome king wears night elf underwear
Help! I'm trapped in a binary punch card factory!
Message to Castpipe: your laundry's ready for pickup.

Anyone know what the binary on the machines translates to? It's obviously ASCII given that it's 8 bits per segment and each starts with 0 but I don't want to do all that work for this :P

Comment by Thottbot

Question about the quest... Is it necessary to hold on to the old punch cards to complete the quest? My bank is breaking at the seams for slots :/

Does anyone know if we need all 4 cards to get the final card? I haven't found that written anywhere, even on that very cool map Dudes mentions above. My bank is breaking and I wondered if I could get rid of the old cards and save just the most recent aquisition, the Red card.

Comment by Thottbot

The white punch card (the first one) drops off the Addled Lepers (non-elite) that are outside the instance, by Techbot. They do NOT drop off the elite mobs (Caverndeep Invaders, etc). I know because I have been killing those elite mobs for the past hour for experience and such.
On a side note, Robo-mechanical guts DO drop off those elite mobs outside the instance. Not a great drop rate, but good to know if you like to solo quests as much as possible like me.

Comment by Thottbot

Those maps are awesome...they explain everything. and ignore what the guy said about the last card, it's in the engineering lab...best way to describe it. You need the most recent card to activate the machine, so you should be ok just keepng the last one you got to finish the quest. so, first card drops off the non-elite mobs outside the instance, then you have to go to the machine that is in the same room(near techbot, straight ahead when you come down the tunnel into the train depot) and it gives you the next card. then the next machine is outside the clean room, then the next machine is up a ramp when you get to the groups of gnomes around flying machines. you go up the ramp and fight the Electrocutioner 6000, he's guarding the machine. Then the last machine is in the engineering lab, as i already said. Have fun!

Comment by Thottbot

Do I need the prismatic punch card to get the schematics from the punch card machines? I got it off a mob in the backdoor hall, the one you need the workshop key to acess, and its what I need to turn in. Do I need it to get the engineering schematics from the punch card machines?

Comment by Thottbot

Ok I have completed this quest and handed it in. For some reason I still have all the punch cards minus the one that gets handed in. Is it safe to throw these old cards out now? I don't see any need for them at all and I can't sell them or trade them. It just takes up slots

Comment by Thottbot

what do i do i do with the Cards after were done with the quest . its a stupid question. but are the card unless after, or would we need them for later on?

Comment by Thottbot

--EDIT--
Lower cards are useless once data rescue is finished.

Comment by Thottbot

Now i have white, yellow, blue, and red punchcards, BUT now what and how the heck do i get the prismatic card?

Comment by Allakhazam

The binary code on the punch cards translates, through ASCII, into more proof of the immense sense of humor of the programmers.
White Punch Card
SUPER CRITICAL TRIPLE-ENCODED DATA CARD
Thrall and Jaina sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G
Yellow Punch Card
ULTRA VITAL DATA! SECURITY RATING 5122!
If you can read this, you're standing too close
Blue Punch Card
DO NOT LET THIS INFORMATION INTO ENEMY HANDS!
The gnome king wears night elf underwear
Red Punch Card
SECURITY RATING 10^10000 SUPER SENSITIVE DATA!
Help! I'm trapped in a binary punch card factory!
Prismatic Punch Card
THE SECURITY RATING OF THIS CARD SO HIGH THAT IT IS PENDING THE INVENTION OF A NEW NUMBER TO DESCRIBE IT!

Hello,
I've finished this quest. But all 4 cards which are necessary to get the prismatic punchcard remained in my inventory.
They are soulbound and as far as i understand they have no other use.
What do i do with them? Simply throw away?

Comment by Allakhazam

can i do this Q if i am lvl 10 ?

Comment by Allakhazam

how do you combin the cards to make the prismatic card?

Comment by Allakhazam

C machines were in Dormatory I believe, and D was near electrocutioner 6000

Comment by Allakhazam

What's the deal with these punchcards?
Are they Alliance only or Horde only or both?
Are they for engineers or any profession/class can use them and get the quest?

Comment by Allakhazam

The last key is at the north of the techbo, but that is only if you have the key to the 'back door', Techbot is located near the first punch card machine-A (To the west of the machines) and those machines are straight from the first ramp when one enter gnomeregan. The Machine-B is inside the instance to the left after the ramp, after entering the instance, head left at the split, go straight pass another T junction, then take a left(usually there are 3 mobs there), right after take a right down the stairs, one will find a shelter there, with the machine-B and the 5200 machines. I am still looking for the C machines

Comment by Allakhazam

where is the machine for the last key..i read on another site that it was north of the techbot...but where is the techbot?

White Punch Card is a drop from pretty much anything outside of the instance, as far as I can tell. 3005-A is just outside the workshop door, where you find Techbot. 3005-B is just outside of the Clean Zone (just below that, between there and the pit with the slimes and horrors.)
3005-D is in the Engineering Labs just before the Leper King's area ...
FINALLY found Punchograph 3005-C! Based on the Electocutioner tip and the fact that 3005-D is in the Engineering bay, we searched one of the two places in GNR that I haven't memorized in my now frequent explorations - one of the off-shoot tunnels from the main hub (the hub you enter from the 1st instance portal)leads to the Launch Bay, and high atop the platform in the very center is the Electrocutioner and the fabled Punchograph 3005-C. The mob also drops the Workshop Key, which is sad because I already had that and yet didn't remember that there WAS a launch bay ...
Thanks!

*Avril - you can get the plans if you are horde, read on.*
Loot the White Punch Card from the NPCs in Gnomeregan, inside or outside the instance.
Take the White Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-A that is located to the north of both the elevator or the transporter.
You will get the Yellow Punch Card.
Take the Yellow Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-B that is located in the bottom of the Dormitories.
You will get a Blue Punch Card.
If you are an Engineer and managed to get a 'Security BETA Access Card' to drop, you will also get the 'Plans: Minor Discombobulator'.
Take the Blue Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-C that is located at the top of the Launch Bay on the platform.
You will get a Red Punch Card.
Take the Red Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-D that is located at the bottom of the platform in the Engineering Labs.
You will get a Prismatic Punch Card.
If you are an Engineer and managed to get a 'Security DELTA Access Card' to drop, you will also get the 'Plans: Discombobulator Ray'.
Take the cards back to Ironforge to complete the quest.

Description

When we fled Gnomeregan, we left so much data behind! Vitally important data!

Data Rescue 5 Serial Number Crack

Data Rescue 5 Serial Number Mac

I need the data on a prismatic punch card, from a Matrix Punchograph 3005-D high security terminal, deep in Gnomeregan. You must access the terminal, but to do that you first need clearance... and to get that you must access lower security terminals-- models -A, -B and -C. And to do THAT you need security punch cards, starting with white... and we left all the punch cards in the city.
It's a catastrophe! Can you help?
